During the fusion HCM cloud implementation, we will come across a common requirement to upload employee’s profile photos.

Below are the steps:

• Preparation of HDL file 

• Person Images can be uploaded both with Source System Id and User Key’s and it’s recommended to use Source System ID while uploading.
• Create a folder with Name as “BlobFiles” and store the employee profile images in the folders.
• We are uploading profile photo for Person # 1607 with profile photo name as “Image.jpeg”.
• Now create the HDL file (.DAT) in below format:

 METADATA|PersonImage|SourceSystem|SourceSystemId|PersonNumber|ImageName|Image|PrimaryFlag

MERGE|PersonImage|CUSTOM_HDL|IMAGE1607|1607|Boby|Image.jpeg|Y

Here Source System Owner is “CUSTOM_HDL” and Source System Id is “IMAGE1607”

Link the file name stored in “BlobFiles” folders with Image name in HDL.

Folder:

Please note that we need to place the profile photos under BlobFiles and create worker.dat file.

ZIP both the files.

HDL File:

METADATA|PersonImage|SourceSystem|SourceSystemId|PersonNumber|ImageName|Image|PrimaryFlag

MERGE|PersonImage|CUSTOM_HDL|IMAGE1607|1607|Boby|Image.jpeg|Y

FYI:

To get all the attributes details for the objects navigate to below path and download Excel file.

My Client Group -> Data Exchange -> HCM Data loader -> View Business Objects -> Filter with Worker and click on Overview Download to download Excel.

• Now ZIP both the BlobFiles folder and Worker.Dat file.

• Uploading the HDL files.

• Navigate to My Client Group -> Data Exchange -> HCM Data loader -> Import and Load Data -> Import File
• Choose local file and select ZIP file and submit.

Make sure load and import is succesfull.

• Verifying the image

 Now navigate to My Client Group -> Person Management -> Search for the employees to verify the profile image.

SELECT papf.person_number,pi.image_id,hikm.surrogate_id
