Business Requirement

Business User A wants to have a Scheduled Job created in Fusion Applications where in he/she is interested to get the details about Total Employee Hires in a Tabular Format along with a graphical representation of the same ( preferably a Pie Chart)

In this article we would try to un-earth the same with the help of a worked example. So without much ado let’s begin…

Steps Required

1. Create a Simple BIP Data Model

2. Create a Simple BIP Report from BIP Data Model

3. Create a ESS Job from BIP Data Model

Creating a BIP Data Model from OTBI Analysis

Navigation -> Reports and Analytics -> Catalog (Book Icon) -> Create Data Model

Click on Create. Then click on SQL Query

Then a new window will appear. Write your SQL There (This is called Data Set Window)

Details to be used:

Next Click on the Data (Tab) and then click on view option (Data would be displayed). Once the data appears on-screen press “Save as Sample Data”.

Point to your Data Model (just created) and select the “Use Report Editor” Option.

Now we need to design the Report Template:

Step 1: Insert a Data Table (include PERSON_NUMBER and START_DATE Field)

Step 2: Insert a ‘Ring Chart’ from the Chart Types option and choose ‘START_YEAR’ as Series and ‘PERSON_NUMBER’ as value.

Once done save the BI Template.

Now we will create a ESS Job from the BIP Report.

Finally, we would run the ESS Job and see the output
