Introduction

One of the basic challenege every Oracle HCM Cloud Integration Consultant must have faced till date is to find the correct HDL keys required to update/correct records. Some of the commonly known ways via which the same is retrieved being:

Referring Intital Data Load File

This is probably the most authentic and sure shot way of fetching HDL keys for data loaded via HDL. But it comes with some shortcomings like one would not keep the file saved securely and not all the records may be present in one file (there could be multiple files used and storing all of them can be a herculian task)

Use BIP Queries to fetch HDL Keys

One may even use BIP Queries to fetch the HDL keys. There are integration tables which holds columns like Source System Owner, Source System ID, Surrogate ID and GUID along with object name.

Using Business Object Key Map Extract

One may run the delivered Business Object Key Map Extract and fetch the values

However, in this example we will try to use another delivered extract “Integration Object User Key Map Extract”.

The various steps involved are:

  1. Create a copy of Integration Object User Key Map Extract (say “XX Integration Object User Key Map Extract”). Compile the Fast Formula and add a Delivery Option.

  2. Run the Extract

  3. Check Results

So without further ado let’s get started.

Creating a Copy of Integration Object User Key Map Extract

We would navigate to Data Exchange -> Manage Extract Definitions-> Choose Integration Object User Key Map Extract and click on copy icon on top left hnd side .

We would be asked to give a new Name to the extract after which we would need to compile the associated fast formulas and ensure that the extract definition is valid.

Running the Extract

Now that we have the extract ready we will run the extract. We will pass “Worker” as the object and since we are interested to get the HDL key value for records which were created in Fusion (referred to as Base System) we will pass the same value in parameter

Checking Results

Once the Extract Run is complete we can navigate to the “Extract Delivery Options” and download the XML Data.

And post download when we open the XML file we should be able to see the HDL Keys
