Objective:
This training article is intended to provide an overview of how to include flexfields in Transactional Business Intelligence reporting.
Configuration of Key Flexfields for OBI:
In order to include flexfields in Transactional Business Intelligence reporting, we must enable them for Business Intelligence. Let us see how to designate accounting flexfield as BI enabled.
Navigation: Setup & Maintenance > Implementation Project > Manage Chart of Account Structure
We can also goto Manage Key Flexfield do the configuration
Search for accounting flexfield and Click on Manage Structure Instance
Search for the Structure name and click on Edit icon
Select Company Structure and click on Edit icon
Enable the check box for BI and click on OK button. We need to repeat the above steps for department, account and cost centre (if any). Finally, save the changes.
We are required to populate the BI object name for each segment to be mapped. Following are the BI objects to be associated with the flex-fields-

To associate the BI object with the segment labels go to Manage Key Flexfields from Setup & Maintenance area.
Click on Manage Segment Labels
Add the BI object name (dimension) with the Segment label code and save the configuration. Finally, Deploy the flexfield.
